1. Information we collect
When you search for results, we use the exam number and year you enter to find the school result page and show the matching record. Our server receives your IP address and browser details when you visit the website.
When you send feedback, we save your topic, role or description, message, and any phone number or email address you choose to share. We temporarily use a one-way code (hash) made from your IP address to limit repeated messages. Admins may add a private note and a review status.
Public pages may send their page address to ElimuTaifa so we can count visits. We estimate visitor numbers using a one-way code made from the IP address and browser details. We do not use these counts to build advertising profiles. The page-view script respects the browser’s Do Not Track setting.
Error records may include the page address, exam level, source website, a simplified source path, response status, error type, dates and number of repeats. We do not intentionally store candidate numbers or raw IP addresses in the traffic or error dashboards.
You do not need an account, password or payment details to search for examination results.
We use session cookies where needed for forms and admin sign-in. Your browser also stores your privacy-notice acknowledgement and may store how often a sponsor notice has been shown. Clearing browser storage removes these saved choices.
For admin accounts, we may save a notification email address. When email notifications are enabled, completed sign-ins and account creation can send the account name, username, role and time to that admin and active owners. The email provider processes the message and recipient address. Passwords and sign-in codes are not included.
2. How we use information
- To validate your request and retrieve the requested examination result.
- To protect the service from abuse and excessive automated requests.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve system reliability.
- To review and respond to questions, corrections, education announcements, suggestions, and problem reports submitted through the contribution form.
- To understand aggregate traffic, identify missing portal URLs, detect unavailable or moved external result pages, and plan maintenance.
3. Independence and external information providers
It is not an official government website. It is not run by, sponsored by or acting for the Government of Tanzania, NECTA, NACTVET, TCU, TIE or another education institution. These institutions have not endorsed ElimuTaifa.
What this independence means
- ElimuTaifa does not represent an external institution and cannot speak, decide or act on its behalf.
- ElimuTaifa cannot create, approve, cancel or change examination results, selections, admissions, registrations, awards or other official decisions.
- References to institutional names, examination names or abbreviations identify the subject or original information source only. They do not indicate a partnership, endorsement or official status.
- A link to an external website does not create an association between ElimuTaifa and the owner of that website.
External information and accuracy
ElimuTaifa helps people find and understand public education announcements, results, selections, admission updates and learning opportunities from other providers. The original provider remains responsible for its notice, result or decision.
We take care when showing information, but sources may change, delay or remove it. Information may also be incomplete or misunderstood. We cannot promise that every item is complete, current or free from errors.
User verification
Before relying on a deadline, payment request, admission instruction, selection or exam result, check with the institution responsible for it. Use the source link where one is provided.
Corrections and concerns
Report incorrect, old, misleading or wrongly credited information through our Contact or Feedback page. We may correct or remove what we show. Only the responsible institution can change an official record or decision.
4. Security, caching, and request limits
We keep temporary copies of public result pages to reduce repeated requests to the source. A copy is normally reused for five minutes. If the source is unavailable, we may show a copy fetched within the last 24 hours and label it as cached. A school page may contain results for more than one candidate.
We limit repeated requests to protect this service and the result providers. Source monitoring checks the directory and a sample school; it does not check every candidate or guarantee that all results are correct.
Feedback messages are stored in a database that cannot be opened directly through the website. Admin access uses sign-in checks, protection against forged requests, limits on sign-in attempts, sessions that expire, and activity logs. No internet service can guarantee complete protection from security incidents.
5. Data retention

Result copies are normally reused for five minutes and can be used as a fallback for up to 24 hours. Older copies are removed during periodic cleanup. Request limits use a rolling one-minute window; old rate-limit files are removed during cleanup after one hour.
The IP-based code used to limit feedback messages is cleared after its one-hour window when later messages are processed. We keep messages, optional contact details, admin notes and activity records while reasonably needed for review, support and abuse investigations. You can request a review or removal using the contact details below. We may need details to identify your message.
Cleanup removes visitor codes older than 90 days, repeat-counting records older than one day, and daily traffic totals older than 730 days. Cleanup runs periodically as visits are processed, so removal may happen after these periods. Error reports and admin activity records may be kept longer to investigate problems and track changes.
Completed admin email records are removed after 14 days when the email worker runs. Messages waiting to send or interrupted during sending remain for review. Email providers may keep their own copies under their policies.
6. Advertising
Sponsor banners and cards help pay for the service. They are labelled as sponsored content and are separate from examination results and official notices. We choose where they appear by page and schedule, without building advertising profiles.
When the main owner enables an approved network ad unit, Google AdSense or Adsterra may load scripts and ads on its selected public pages. These providers receive normal connection details and may use cookies or other advertising technologies under their own policies and the required consent setup. Opening a sponsor link or loading an external image also sends normal connection details to that provider.
ElimuTaifa records anonymous placement delivery and script success/failure signals for enabled network units. Signals are grouped using a one-way daily code derived from the IP address and browser details, with repeated signals limited to once per hour. Browser Do Not Track is respected for this local monitoring. Temporary deduplication records are kept for about one day and aggregate delivery counts for up to 60 days. These counts are estimates, not provider-confirmed impressions, clicks or earnings.
7. External links
Links may take you to institutions, education providers, social media or other websites. Those providers control their content, availability, security and privacy practices. We are not responsible for those practices. A link does not mean a partnership or endorsement.
Some articles load images, fonts or icons from other websites. Those providers receive connection details, including your IP address. YouTube cover images may load before you press Play. The video player loads through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain after you press Play. YouTube and Google apply their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Terms of use
ElimuTaifa helps you find public education information and announcements. Use the service lawfully. Do not send abusive or automated requests. Check important details with the responsible institution. We may limit or change access to protect the service and its sources.
9. Contact and updates
Use our Feedback form for privacy questions, corrections or a request to review or remove a message you sent. Give enough detail for us to find the message, but do not include passwords or unnecessary personal information. You can also visit our Contact page.
